Imam Malik ibn Anas - Scholar (مالك بن انس)

Imam Malik (مالك بن انس) was the founder of the Maliki school of jurisprudence, a prominent Sunni legal tradition. Based in Medina, he was deeply influenced by the practices of the Prophet Muhammad companions and the Tabi'un. His seminal work, Al-Muwatta, is one of the earliest and most authentic compilations of Hadith and jurisprudence. Imam Malik emphasized adherence to the customs of the people of Medina as a reflection of prophetic practice. Known for his humility and piety, he was unwavering in his principles, famously enduring persecution under the Abbasid Caliphate for his refusal to endorse the ruler\u2019s decrees. His teachings emphasize moderation, practicality, and community welfare, making the Maliki school particularly influential in Africa and parts of the Arabian Peninsula.
